No change is one of the possible outcomes of corruption. Except obviously corrupting the item.

I guess it was "+ socket" outcome.

I guess it's just a feature of using this omen with gem.

I didn't notice the omen was in play since it wasn't mentioned. But it is in the chat box.

Oka, i see. Its like "white socket corrupt" on belt or ring from PoE 1
