Unable to log in after server kicked me

I was doing a map and a massive server lag spike hit which booted me as it got me killed and now i cannot get back into my character. I am stuck infinitely loading into a map and would rather not redownload the whole game just to see if that fixes it

Ctrl + click on the "play" button for your character and select to return to town/hideout.
