Sandspit Boss not spawning

The boss on Sandspit, Sandstrider, isn't spawning in the boss arena.

You need to walk to the waterline on the edge of the arena where there is a break in the wall. It's really annoying, they just didn't make the trigger volume in that area large enough.

I tested this out again in 0.3b and you still have to get really close to the water to start the event. Little confusing since the boss marker shows up in the middle of the arena.
