Blasphemy bricking due to recommended support gems.

I linked Decaying hex support in with Blasphemy and Despair to see what would happen...Safe to say Blasphemy broke when removing it and attempting to link it with any other curse. It now says "Missing socketed skill" although it's now linked with Despair and Heightened curse which are supposed to be compatible.

The kicker is that decaying hex is a recommended support link and doesn't say that it shouldn't work with Blasphemy or curse auras when cutting the support gem directly into Blasphemy.

I'm assuming it's not supposed to work as is the case in POE 1 but to not exclude it from the recommended list and then brick Blasphemy, forcing us to acquire another one is a perfect example of oversight and lack of diligence in the work that has been put into POE 2 and the skill system.

Funnily enough as I'm writing this I noticed once you cut and then remove Decaying hex it says it's not compatible with Blasphemy. Great clarification, incompatible supports shouldn't be able to be linked in the first place yet alone recommended for the skill it will 100% brick as a result of linking.

The synergies and incompatibilities between skill gems and supports need to be better presented/explained. Blasphemy being a perfect example as I'm sure there's other supports that brick it in the same manner and I'm certain there are skill gems that simply do not interact with certain support gems for whatever undocumented reason.

Anyways, now I gotta go find an uncut spirit gem. o/

Coincidentally I posted a similar issue at the same time, but I suspect the issue is related to spririt reservation and not compatibility : out of curiosity, did you have enough spirit for the cost increase induced by the support gem ? (IE : the curse cost 60 spirit base, 80 with the support, and you have 70 spirit availble) ?

I got my blasphemy bricked by "Heightened curse", with definitly works with the curse i was using.

Spirit cost doesn't seem to be the issue with mine at all.

I've tested this by spamming weapon swaps with varying spirit requirements etc.

I'm convinced it stems from cutting support gems directly into the blasphemy link that would usually be fine for self cast curses.

This is a really easy fix for GGG, I have no idea why this hasn't been done as this has been an issue since at least last league.

Just don't recommend us incompatible supports and remove the ability to add incompatible supports to any links.

My blasphemy is bricked, too. Can't get it to work, and don't want to make a new one because it has 20 quality and extra links, haha.

i found out its the quality issue once u put Blasphemy quality it wont work on my different weapon set. if u dont level with Blasphemy it will still work

This just happened to me too. Was experimenting with different gems to increase Blasphemy's area of effect, and at some point the gem broke.

If I select both weapon sets, it indicates it's active, but it isn't, and it doesn't reserve any Spirit. If I then touch anything else (switch weapons, turn the gem off, move gems inside it) it goes back to being disabled with a "missing socketed skill" warning.

I don't want to farm another 5-socket just to brick it again somehow, but nothing I do can make this specific Blasphemy gem work anymore.

Update: I managed to make it work again, strangely, by switching my weapons to the second slot. I only use one set of weapons. If I put them back in the first slots, the gem bricks again no matter what I do. But the same weapons in the second slots, it runs fine.

Of course, this now means Convalesence won't work (because it thinks I'm using two weapon sets if I use the second set at all, and I don't have enough Spirit without a sceptre). Weird.

Same issue. For a while was bricked on one weapon set. Swapped to new weapons and 5 linked the blasphemy and it no longer will turn on, stating "Missing Socketed Skill"

Tried new curse gems for it, doesn't work. Tried a different Blasphemy gem and it worked.

Can turn on the Use with Weapon box on the bricked on and it seems to be on, but does not consume spirit and is actually not on although it shows it on in the gem window.

The bricked on was 20% quality as well. Not sure if that was the problem the whole time as one weapon set was bricked with it for a while.

Really hoping for a fix as I used all I had to get the perfect jewelers orb and now I am bricked pretty much.

Same Issue here. Wont use Spirit even if its showing as active. Solid Deathstreak until i noticed why my dmg is gone. It started after Opening Gem slot 4 and placing 25% Magnitude Gem.

The brick happens when you put it heightened curse effect. Got about 5 blashpemy jewels in. Currently bricked a 5 socket one but hey thanks ggg
