Core Map Boss Stuck at 25% Health, Unkillable

The map boss "Eater of Souls" does not progress, probably because there is a duplicate of the boss. Map gets stuck and becomes uncompletable.

"This happened during the first phase of the fight. The boss sits at 25% life and doesn't kill Piety, just keeps spamming attacks and I can't damage him."

This is still a problem 5+ years later.
