Link mastery for movement speed is not working properly

Let's say we have two characters. One with really high movement speed and the other one with 0 movement speed. Slower character gets link mastery: "Your Movement Speed is equal to the highest Movement Speed among Linked Players".

If fast character uses link on slower one, slower character won't get any movement speed. It works fine the other way around. But as we all know that wording in POE is extremely important and there are nothing in the text restricting that only the caster of the link is getting benefits from this mastery.

Is it a bug or its designed this way? Because it will unlock some cool party interactions. I hope it can be fixed so that it doesn't matter who is the caster of the link in order for mastery to work.

The behaviour is correct. Links are one-way. If you link to another player, they are the linked player, you are not.
If another player links to you, but you don't use any links of your own, you are their linked player, but you do not have any linked players.
So yeah, it's the wording problem. I was thinking that when you link to someone you and the target get buff, which makes you both considered to be linked to each other. But as you said, apparently links are one-way (which is extremely strange if you think for a bit)

Anyways, it's such a niche problem, that I don't think a lot of people will encounter it.

Thanks for a quick reply!
