Traveling Merchant – Sells Exceptional White Bases (Dungeon Encounters)
The addition of Exceptional White Base Items is a significant upgrade to traditional item bases, offering more crafting potential. I would like to propose a fun idea of a “Traveling Merchant” NPC that is a very rare encounter that can randomly spawn in dungeons during the campaign. Imagine exploring a dungeon to stumble across a Traveling Merchant standing in the corner setting up shop.
If you happen to find him, he will sell you an assortment of various exceptional white base items only. This merchant also has a distinct icon on mini map once in close range. This merchant could have funny dialogue mentioning that monsters don't make good customers or he found a collection of "fine treasure." I think it would make for a memorable encounter. They already have special map nodes on the Atlas that have special merchant encounters. I could imagine if they didn't already have a white-based merchant then it should be easily added. He could have a range of tiers from basic white to exceptionals in his inventory so it's not too stacked when you find one but devs would still have room to tune it so your experience will rarely be "oh it's garbage" when you look at his white-wares.
Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.
