Identity of PoE 2.
Hey there Exiles! What are you opinions, about poe 2 identity as it is?
It should be slower,it needs more map clearing power on some builds, not just oneclick clear tho, while maintaining souls-like bossfights, at least on higher tier (3-4 or speced atlas) endgame bosses, you should not be able to oneshot those bosses without a near mirror worth of build, and they should not be able to oneshot you with every move. In my opinion these bosses should have the 2-3 min fight like in campaigns. The game should be different than poe 1 and not a copy of it. Crafting is a great example, with less deterministic crafting, while i don't agree with the prices of crafting the idea with omens and the new 0.3 abyss are great. It should be just lowered and made more accesible. There is no joy and value in deterministic crafting you just put it on it and thats it. If the omens were more common not multiple divines worth it would be in great place. The support gem restriction was a great feature too, tho we will see what will happen now that it's gone, for better or worse. Towers are great but, they should not overlap a full 3 tablet towers maps should drop more loot, and you should not need to find overlapping ones. Also don't forget that the game is in early acces, don't treat it like a finished game, and don't expect to be that much content in it like in poe 1 that's out for more than a decade. The game is not perfect be patient with it and give good feedback for the devs. PoE 2 is it's own genre and game don't make it like PoE 1. It should be different. People who like PoE 1 will have their own game, with leagues and mechanics, and PoE 2 will have for different type of playerbase, that's why they made the choice to make it separete game. Appreciate your attention and that you read it! Will happily to read your opinions on the matter! Last bumped on Aug 20, 2025, 7:03:34 PM

Not sure how much different you want it, but what is concerning to me is the visual clarity and how spammy it is. I feel this should be addressed when going forward but what it looks like its going other way completely.
they are clearly trying to push away 1-button builds, they speak about it and make skill interactions that address that btw gem restriction is still there (in 0.3), it just got moved to 'premium/unique' gems which you will end up using. which is a throwback to how gems used to be way back in poe1 (drop only) this is prob a good change, altho power creep here might be insane overall good changes, but screen cancer? just why? |

" Towers are detested by most. The devs know it and they will be changed, because it's one of the biggest problem this game have. " I don't understand how this is still brought up. The game is now 9 month old and they ought to know by now what irritates the players the most. People who are still voicing their opinion after all this time truly care. |

" I understand that on towers i just don't know what they can come up with atlas that will work with it. The problem is that most people who voice their opinion are just want to make poe 2 more and more like poe 1, because that's where they come from and thrive for. There are exceptions tho. |

I understand you, i played arsonist minions and i needed to swap to cold minions in 0.1, The solution can be making your skills, less vibrate and flashy and enemy spells flashy. But i have no idea how they can solve that fully.

" To ease the devs workload, towers could stay in place but be redesigned to behave differently, without impacting maps at all. A more agreeable system should then be devised to boost maps, whatever that plan may be, a new mechanic in your hideout to buff them. I haven't played POE in over 6 years and I'm not interested in playing POE 1. I don't want POE 2 to be a POE 1 clone with better graphics but I also don't want POE 2 to be extremely slow and tedious. There needs to be some middle ground because this game is an ARPG at the end of the day. When it comes to bosses, I like when it's difficult, if those bosses are rewarding. Map bosses shouldn't be very tedious because the rewards are usually bad. But for pinnacle bosses, or any other special bosses, I can appreciate something harder even though right now, their rewards have been bricked, and it's something I'm very salty about and I don't think I'll be able to get out of my cope on that one because to me, itemization is my top priority, especially for unique items. Since we are grinding maps non stop in a cycle, I can't see how it can be engaging to have bosses fight that last 3 minutes, it will ultimately burn out a lot of players, including myself and will be boring. I'd rather fight more bosses, see more different things than get stuck 3 minutes on a fight in a map where the reward for it are pointless. Last edited by Oinkaments#6390 on Aug 20, 2025, 7:06:55 PM
