Where is basic weapon?

With all due respect to your work and the game — how on earth is it possible that in a dark fantasy ARPG I can’t use a sword, but there are crossbows, spears and so on?

Why is it that in what I honestly think is the best ARPG out there right now, I can’t even play the most basic archetypes — like a rogue with daggers, a warrior with a two-hander, or dual swords? How does that make any sense?
