Game really needs optimization patches
Bro, Battlefield 6 is infinitely lighter and smoother than PoE 2.
I bought a 4060 just to get better FPS, and I still can’t manage to play without freezes — even in the hideout. This is insane, and it completely compromises the gameplay experience. Last bumped on Aug 15, 2025, 6:32:24 PM

Game needs frequent patches. I dont care what's inside. I just want monthly patch of changes to feed the youtube, streams and me, figuring out how to adapt to keep my build viable. Feeding youtube and streams would bring more casuals, which would equalize the loss of crybabies whom left because they got nerfed. |

They're sticking to league patches for a reason, it lets them really put everything to the test properly. From what I'm hearing, though, the most important thing for game's performance is a fast SSD.

i always wondered if its not the sheer amount of calc involved in this game. if you account for the complexity of all the damage calcs, then amount of mobs on screen, projectiles... this gets out of hand real fast. i don't have background in code optimization but if you juice poe1 maps with beyond/ritual/breach/deli etc and the game still 'computes' ... that is just impressive.
comparing this to a FPS game is kinda laughable imo, compare it to something like factorio/dwarf fortress next time. now i'm not saying they didn't fuck around with shaders in the past, there was one horrendous patch around crucible that they tested poe2 shaders on poe1 and it was cooking my card. hopefully they can keep improving that, but i wouldn't expect miracles at this point due to all the above |

yeah its still pretty rough when you run a build with lots of visual effects like a ballista Tactician with 20 auras/heralds/etc and grenades (igniting oil fields, gas bombs, etc, etc) lol
My old PC (Win10) had a 4060 and this current league would reboot my PC at random. The first league did not. Now i'm running a ryzen 9600, 5060, 32 gigs ram, Win11 and is liquid cooled. I can now play maybe 4 hours before I need to shut everything down and reload the game. It looks simply fantastic! The issue thou if that performance and stability are important too.
