Why is harvest gambling still in the game its so bad

Why is harvest gambling still in the game? There are literal players who will just gamble as soon as they can afford a single card and quit if they dont win the gamble.

Also its completely toxic to the economy, why play a game and focus on actually target farming or decent profit strats when you can just "WIN"

Because gambling is GGG's way of adding currency and resource sinks. If there is a chance you will get something worth more than you put in, people will engage in it.

But you don't have to. There's nothing about PoE that says you must engage in these risky mechanics.

I remember a youtuber saying this for currency farming years ago and it still holds true: Consistency is key. Don't gamble for big ticket items. The odds are stacked against you.

Do the following:
- Sell your div cards and the crystallised lifeforce
- Sell your Valdo's Puzzle Boxes
- Sell your Reliquary Keys
- Don't use Recombinator, sell items if they have valuable mods
- Don't gamble with gold
- Don't use map runners, stick to shipments
- Run low-risk atlas strats that can be easily farmed like essences in T6+ maps, strongboxes WITHOUT Containment scarab, or Harvest WITHOUT Awakening scarab
- Only run high-risk atlas strats IF your build is strong enough to comfortably tackle them, it's not worth it if you have to spend 6 portals clearing a map
- Sell your T17 maps, run T16.5 instead
- If you farm Incursions for building temples, sell the chronicles
- Run Exarch altars instead of Eater, less pay for consistent gains
- If you farm Eldritch bosses, sell your unID Forbidden Flame/Flesh jewels
- If you farm Elder or Uber Elder, sell your unID Watcher's Eyes
- If you farm Eagon's memory threads, sell the pinnacle boss invitations
- DON'T FUCKING CRAFT

Let some other poor sod blow away their currency gambling. You want currency? Play it safe.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Let's be honest here, that only "holds true" for noobs. Anyone with actual experience will do everything that "youtuber" said not to.

Harvest gambling is fine because everything else is also glorified gambling with worse odds, Harvest is just more straight forward about it with 50/50.

If by "actual experience", you mean having a ridiculous amount of currency they earned without gambling and are willing to risk losing without going broke, then sure.

Whaaat but its so fun though, I love doing it at the end of a league just to see if I can print a free mageblood/nimis so that I can then actually copy+paste a build which uses those items. The div card gamba is one of the best crafts, I'd just have less reason to play the game late in a league's life cycle if that didn't exist. There would be nothing for me to look forward to, nothing to farm currency for because I can't make hundreds of divines that fast.

Div card gamba+valdo boxes+voidborn reliquary key+random forbidden flame drops from Exarch+Watcher's Eye drops are what spices up my league experience every single time without fail. Even boss drops are just gambling but with the extra step of killing the boss.

During Phrecia I got a 200 div jewel from exarch because it was for Scion and added a Trickster notable lmao so that allowed me to just buy a buuunch of amazing gear for my build.
Let's assume you get 10div/h with that strat, at best. Let's say you play 10h daily. At current prices, it would take 13 (ish) days to get a mirror. That is not a "ridiculous amount of currency".

There's only three ways of getting a "ridiculous amount of currency" in PoE: crafting, high-risk strats (this topic) and group play. Everything else is just cope or gross missunderstanding of what actual "ridiculous amounts of currency" is.

why do you care how others play the game, i've never understood why people think like this. play the game how you choose and let others play how they want, crazy mentality
