no pauses areas are great

So I just lost a few thousand divines character in maven arena because my ethernet cable got out and I got disconnected from the game.
But since this is a no pause area the game kept the fight going and I died while being unable to do anything.
Can we please have people disconnect faster in no pause areas when they lose internet?
That would be nice for people trying to play HC thank you.

The pausing has been a good inclusion, but it is also an in-game function of the logout macro. Which is a bit of a problem for HC, because it means the optimal way to play is to use logging out as a layer of defense. Also, to counter this, it means the game needs to have extremely quick times to death, for there to be difficulty that people cant just avoid by logging out.

If there was a way to have disconnect protection without allowing people to log out as a defense, it would be great. I assume the reason GGG have not extended the pausing to these area's, is because they are trying to prevent the logout being used as defense in this highest level content.

I stopped using the logout macro a few years ago and find the game more enjoyable without it. Now, I have found myself logging out more as a defense again that they have made this change, as it is right there on the menu and instant with one button. It may well be as you are suggesting that disconnection protection is more important than this, particularly if it can be done with a third party application anyway. However, I think it is a much larger problem with the game design and the death times. It was mentioned that it would be addressed in POE2, extending these to what people can react to, but based on gameplay I have seen, I don't think that has happened.

Also, is there anything to gain from having a sarcastic title? You have a valid point in your post and have worded it reasonably and politely. Just say what you actually think on the title. People reading post on the forum shouldn't have to turn on their sarcasm detector or click bait predictor to decide whether they want to read the post.
