CoC Soulrend of the Spiral not working on 6-link

I seem to be encountering a strange interaction where my Cast of Critical Strike Support does not trigger Soulrend of the Spiral while on a 6-link.

My current link setup is the following:
Lancing Steel of Spraying
Soulrend of the Spiral
Cast on Critical Strike Support
Spellblade Support
Critical Damage Support
Returning Projectiles Support


If I remove Spellblade support then it works again but stops working as soon as it has been placed back in.

If I remove Critical Damage Support then it works again but stoips working as soon as it has been placed back in.

I'm utterly confused as to what's going on here...I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong.

You can't afford to cast the spell. Removing a support is lowering the cost to a level where you can cast it.

Loading your character into PoB, your Unreserved Life is 153, while the life cost of a level 20 Soulrend of the Spiral gem is 194. Both of the supports you mentioned have a 130% cost multiplier; removing one lowers the cost of Soulrend of the Spiral to 149, just barely within your Unreserved Life.

It looks like you swapped to using Blazing Salvo? A level 20 Blazing Salvo gem has almost 1/3rd of the mana cost of a level 20 Soulrend of the Spiral.

Ah that makes sense. Haven't run into this with the other skills I've messed with so it didn't even occur to me that it would be an issue with the skill cost.
