Latency Spikes Every Few Minutes
Starting a couple of days ago while playing the Gauntlet event, I started getting random spikes in my connection. I almost always connect to the Texas server but this is happening on multiple servers I tried. I'll usually sit around 30 MS but lately I've been getting random spikes every few minutes. Yesterday was especially bad and was happening even more frequently. It appears to be a bit better today, but I'm still encountering it. This is only happening on the PoE servers, I'm not having any hiccups with other games or media sources. I'll paste the WinMTR below.

" Was the problem actively occurring while you ran the WinMTR test? It's not showing any indications of a problem. This could either point to an issue that's server-side and / or unique to the return path, or it could just be an intermittent problem that the test 'missed'. |

" I was just sitting in hideout and walked away during this so maybe it didn't occur or as occur as often. I recorded again in a map and witnessed it occur frequently. https://pastebin.com/U1fxvQVd |

This log shows packet loss appear immediately after your router, which persists throughout the rest of the file. The game client occasionally sending data, waiting for an acknowledgement, not receiving one, and then 'trying again' will be what causes the latency spikes you see. Try a power cycle. Blizzard Entertainment has a step-by-step guide here: https://support.blizzard.com/en/article/31851 Has your ISP posted about any issues in your general location? |

I called the isp support and they said there was nothing of note on their end. Playing a bit this evening there hasn't been any issues, however. It seems to have resolved itself. Maybe they found something once they actually looked into it after calling. Thanks for the help deciphering the data.
EDIT: Okay nevermind. It started happening again a good bit later. Power cycling also did nothing for it sadly. Last edited by zazztrain#2469 on Aug 10, 2025, 11:56:02 PM
