This casual player has enjoyed having a Merc to tank for him this league. =^[.]^=

And I thought the empyrian 1%(probably more like 0,01%) faction profited the most from mercs because of party play magic find?! At least that's what the forum suggested when all the "solo play nerfed" threads popped up (even though of course solo play was never nerfed, just group play became a lot more mf boost because of several mercs...)
You don't need a merc to do ubers btw, just follow a hc ssf guide by one of the big shots and get everything you need in trade league which shouldn't be to hard, because you can buy theoretical endless crafting mats in trade and ubers will go down, because the build just works. Or inform yourself what is the go to boss delete build, so you don't ahve to do any phases, because the burst damage is so op, but that's kind of lame to be honest. Again you don#t need merc for that there is always soem miner build or whatever that jsut deletes bosses. Or last but not least wait for the next league which will give you borrowed power in one way or another to kill ubers, lmao Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Aug 10, 2025, 6:17:22 PM

" yes. Ubers are aspirational content, or were introduced as such at least. If you can´t kill them without the OP-ness of mercs, you need to improve your gaming. thats all. |

Idk about being able to do ubers but the extra player bonus on loot is really nice game is going to feel empty -loot wise- without it next league imo. I'm pro merc but do realize there is giant balance issues with them I think it would be nice to possible have merc league be something that rotates in and out possibly added via the map device?

Totally agree with the OP - Mercs are fantastic for your casual player.
Not just because of "more power" but they make the game fun again. Forget about who gets more loot, who is "winning" the game, but are they just fun? OK, they're not perfect and it's not fun to engage with a Merc only for them to blast you to oblivion because there's no real tangible way to assess their power just by looking at their inventory, but overall they are fun. As a SSF casual scrub, they were fun to equip items to which kept me engaged with loot a lot more than usual. They are a great augment to builds making some actually playable. For SSF they are probably the single most meaningful improvement to the game in years and they really need to stay with some minor adjustments. Improvements I'd like to see: Merc's contribute to party count, so you can either have 6 players without Mercs or say 3 players with a Merc each in the party. That seems fair and reasonable. Up the number of Mercs that can be stored. Three is far too few particularly if you're levelling alt characters. Would be great if you could level your Merc to stay with you, but I understand that might be too complex. |

Fanboys will be against this. It is fun for them to see casual players or not very good players having a hard time beating bosses.
Besides, how can they tell you to, "get better". |
