Unable to patch/update the game (0B/s download speed)

I haven't been able to update the game for over a month, it's always stuck on 0 download speed.



I tried installing the game on another laptop, and it worked fine, so I copied content.ggpk and the exe files to my laptop, but it still needed to update something and won't download.



I ran the game as admin, didn't help. Ran the pack checker, and it reported no issues. I tried different networks (Ethernet, Wifi, 4G), still the same.

I uninstalled the game and tried a fresh install. The installer would start allocating space, then gets stuck on 0B/s when the download starts.

googling lead me to a forum thread suggesting that changing preferred DNS address would fix the issue, but it didn't do it for me.

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar issue and managed to fix it. In any case, any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's interesting that you were unable to reproduce the issue on another device using the same internet connection; that's very helpful troubleshooting you've performed.

When you install Windows, it comes with its own Windows Defender and Windows Firewall software applications. Have you installed any third-party security software? If so, it could be preventing the game client from utilising your device's internet connection, which would explain what you have observed. If the device in question is a laptop, it's possible the OEM threw something else on it, e.g. McAfee LiveSafe. Honestly, in that case, I'd probably backup important documents and just reinstall Windows - but you can try uninstalling any applications you notice & then restarting the machine.

Cryptographic Services

Win Key > services.msc
Find Cryptographic Services
Right Click > Start/Restart the service

Do you get ANY notification on the task bar or pop-up message when this fails to connect?

If that doesn't help could you provide a full screenshot of the installation folder?
