half of the skills are discardables

im ending up discarding half the skills i try cause everything comes with severe downsides making skills unusable IN THIS GAME.

one example: curses with delay - in a game THIS HECTIC having a curse apply after 1.5seconds on the area i was yesterday when i logged in and killed a boss is completely USELESS.

either make it target an enemy (and those around it) OR make it instant.



half of this game feels like this is the first game you are making, while it is actually just a copy of a game you already run for years with better grphics and a roll ability.

stop pretending you do not know what you do.

most skills feel bad I agree with the sentiment. it feels completely wrong to need high gem levels and investment into a skill to make it essentially function as a baseline. the problem is the low effectiveness on most skills makes it so you do negative damage unless you have some really strong interaction

nerfing the monsters doesn't make it feel good, it just feels like every change you make apart from base damage doesn't do much at all, imo there should be a baseline increase on skill damage effectiveness from levels 1-15 so people can visibly see the difference upon cutting the skill and more easily test different skills

I also think GGG should be less attached to the idea of supporting gems being heavily specialized. generic support gems are good for the game because they make it easier for homebrew builds to have good links, again they make it easier to try different skills, and the most important part is they give a nice sense of build progression in the campaign

Is just a copy paste bro from PoE1. No innovative ideas. Only Poe1 rules with some quality graphics and this called the game of the century!!!
As you progress through the game there will be passives/items that reduce the delay. Or you will have the opportunity to turn the curse into an aura or into a "cursed ground". Gem and passives that increase the area so that enemies just don't really get away from it. Add burning inscription or Decaying Hex. and more stuff. Sure the curses are very weak when you are building your character, but so is every other ability.
