Continuation of Secrets of the Atlas storyline and Zana's Future

Hey Everyone,

Before I get into the details of what I have in mind, I would like to start with quick TLDR version for those not wiling to read it all. And yes, I might be like one of those 10 folks that do care about lore...

TLDR: Don't kill Zana... Please?

GGG, You've said it yourself, She has been there from the beginning and was through a lot. Technically she is not wrong in wanting to destroy the atlas as it does create a monsters out of people abusing it and in terms, it gives monsters from the other side way to our world.

They way this story seems to be going, is her becoming another pinnacle Boss either because we do not want to let her destroy the atlas. That would make us, the Exiles monsters(again) or she will snap after years of using the atlas. Her new armour art style seems to be foreshadowing that already.

Both of these endings are bad, if it ends up with her dead. I do not mind to bonk her around a bit to let her come back to the senses if needed but not to kill her.

The way expansions have been always handled since beta was with a clean slate after each one. Making each expansion start with new set of exiles while leaving our achievements to unknown heroes that did it all. Sometimes even kill them off as canon (elder / Sirus kill during destruction of Oriath).

Always disliked this type of storytelling mostly because I do not like when known characters that I've grown to like do not remember me after each expansion.(Yes yes I'm selfish exile that likes his achievements OK?)

I will admit that her asking us if we are still sane just to find out in conquerors of the atlas expansion, that we weren't, was brilliant story but come on, someone needs to break the cycle of hatred. Surely we could start with saving her from the madness right? Right?

You could even tie this up to PoE 2 story/development.

When PoE 2 was announced at exilecon and the first gameplay was shown, I was really exited. Not because of the new graphics, engines or that it will run simultaneously with PoE 1 (all of those were great) but because you have shown that Alva is still around which meant for me that you do care about the story so far and that you will bring back some well loved characters. My hope was that Zana will be one of them eventually. (Never liked Kirac that much but I will admit that some of his one-liners are epic... more on this later)

To my disappointment, right now her/Kirac's role seems to be occupied by a mass-murderer Doryani and only other returning character was Sin. I really do hope that's just an place-holder for now...

So to bring this point to the end, I would like to repeat my plea from the beginning of this thread:

BY THE MUSCULAR GOLDEN ARSE OF INNOCENCE, DON'T KILL ZANA! We don't need another betrayal :(

Arguably she is a monster herself or at the very least not a good person. I get her intentions but she did her group, and Sirus specifically, dirty.

In the grand scheme of things she deserves any and all bad things that come for her.
