Blast Rain of Trarthus not work with explosions?

Im playing Blast Rain of Trarthus and am wondering if most effects of explosion on kill don't work. I have the fire mastery for it but don't notice any explosions. Additionally I've tried using explode chest and oriaths end but they also didn't work. Gloom shrines are the only effect that I can find that do, any idea why this might be?

Have you tried testing with any other skills on your build, like the regular blast rain for example? To see if they are getting the explosions.

(Edit: Have realised it is conditional on burning and regular blast rain might not meet that condition without ignite. Is there anything else you could try for testing? Maybe burning arrow. Or the regular blast rain in combination with some burning effect. With your combust support should be getting a decent amount of ignites.)
