Monster Ailment Avoidance ignores/overrides Shaper of Storms
Shaper of Storms dictates that Hits always Shock.
However, if a Map has the modifier "Monsters have #% chance to avoid Elemental Ailments", Shaper of Storms doesn't function. If that chance is increased to or above 100%, then monsters are effectively immune to Elemental Ailments. I see this as a bug because the monsters aren't avoiding the Hit that applies the Ailment, therefore Shaper of Storms should apply. Last bumped on Aug 7, 2025, 5:51:23 PM

Your assumption is incorrect. Your hits always shock then they roll the chance to avoid that shock.
And you want it to work this way. Dealing with ailment immunity as players would boil down to use purity of elements or bust vs high level content where lots of things always shock/chill/ignite. Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Aug 7, 2025, 1:58:57 AM

It's order of operations. You have a 100% chance to shock, but the defensive layer for ailments happens after. If they flip it like you are suggesting, then avoid ailments means nothing against enemies that have the same "always X" modifiers.
Wanting one thing fixed, but then everyone will be complaining as they learn all the sources of "always" on Expedition, Eldritch altars, and various boss skills. Way better off just rolling over that one specific map mod. |

Thanks for the clarification everyone. Not a bug then. :)
