"Curse skills have #% reduced duration" mod on ring

Hey

I'm considering building a life stacking Hybrid Crit Penance Brand of Dissipation Inquisitor, following this pob: https://pobb.in/Utg7hKrI-ceD

I'm confused about the mod on the rare ring that this pob showcases - it has the mod "Curse skills have #% reduced duration" which I cannot find on poe trade.

How do I look for such rings?
What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Search for "Curse Skills have #% increased Skill Effect Duration", then set max value to a minus value.

Thanks a bunch!

How come most of the mods I see on those rings have negative values? Where does that come from? Why would anyone add a crafted mod to such ring knowing it would get negative value (eg: -66% to fire resistance)

There is a game mechanic called Reflecting Mists. They appear at random in maps. They offer two rings with inverted values. So one ring might give +66% Fire res, while the other will give -66% Fire res. It's completely RNG.

If you're very very lucky, one of the rings will contain all positive values, but usually it's a mix of good and bad values between the two rings.

I see, thank you.

What happens when adding a mod via the crafting bench? Is the outcome also RNG based (as in inverted values can appear)?

I have never tried this myself, but reflected mods have already been modified and are not a property of the item itself. Crafting a mod on it should retain its values as is. At least in theory.

Items taken from the Reflecting Mists can't be crafted on. They have the 'Mirror' tag. They are what they are.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'm wrong on that one.

EDIT2: Yeah, I was wrong. They can be crafted on. As to your question, I have absolutely no idea.

No, you aren't. I forgot they have the "mirrored" tag (both of them), but I had a ring laying around in my stash to try, and you cannot craft anything on it (as expected). Those reflected items with crafts have been crafted beforehand and then reflected with the itemised version of Reflecting Mist. Only thing you can do with them is add anoints.
