Cruel Mistress mercenary's Summon Seeking Void spell classified as a totem/golem?
Hi,
I'm trying to get my mercenary to not deal damage via giving it Ancestral Bond. However, whenever it casts Summon Seeking Void (the big purple orb that hovers around and fires something that looks like Soulrend), the spell is still dealing damage to enemies. Tested this on the beach and mobs are not dying to anything except for that spell. I can't find any information on this spell besides the fact that it exists. Is this spell classified as some sort of weird moving totem, or is it bugged and still dealing damage even through Ancestral Bond? Equipping The Primordial Chain onto the merc does not prevent it from using Summon Seeking Void, so this spell must either be a totem, or be a golem, or some bugged out entity. Is it intended to not be able to prevent this spell from dealing damage? Thanks. EDIT: Also, my mercenary seems to never cast her Despair spell, instead favoring just spamming Dark Pact. Is this also a bug, or is this intended behavior? Last edited by tiamatria#7764 on Jul 15, 2025, 3:53:20 PM Last bumped on Jul 15, 2025, 3:52:22 PM

It's not necessary a totem, any separate entity. Probably a minion because all skills starting with "summon" create minions.
As for Despair, probably some AI issue. From what I heard it's not unusual for mercs. |

" Yeah, I kinda gathered that it's "some kind" of minion, but it isn't actually a minion, since Primordial Chain doesn't prevent it from being summoned. I figure it basically has to be classified as a golem, or it's bugged. Either way, this is a mild frustration because it bricks my crit chance on full life mastery, and I REALLY want to turn this skill off somehow, but every single thing I've tried will not stop it from dealing damage. Primordial Chain, Wilma's Requital, Doryani's Prototype, nothing stops this skill from either being summoned or from dealing damage. Gruthkul's Pelt sadly isn't an option since that's a STR/DEX chest, and Cruel Mistress is a pure INT merc, but even then, I'd still want my merc to be able to spam Dark Pact (and hopefully cast Despair once before the heat death of the universe) |
