Spectres

I'm a relatively new player to Spectres and after actually having saved up my few divine for the ideal 4 spectres I dont think theres a single more frustrating experience in the time i've played this whole game than them just disappearing because I took off my chestpiece (with the gem) by mistake. I dont know what kind of logic has lead to this mechanic working that way but its insane to me that it even happens at all. From what I read GGG also has a no returning items for any reason policy. How long has this issue been a thing?

If its the itemized specters from ritual the corpses should drop to the ground and be reusable in cases like this.

If an offering skill ate the corpses after you removed your chest piece then you are SOL unfortunately.
