Dying to elemental reflect even with lvl 5 awakened elemental damage with attacks support?

As title. How does this happen? I'm not using any other attack skills. I am 100% sure it's reflected elemental damage because I am getting instantly blasted in white maps while being able to run juiced T16s as long as I'm somewhat careful about not stacking too many damage mods. What the hell is the point of the elemental reflect immunity on the awakened support if it doesn't actually make you immune to reflect?

But Infernal Cry says right on it, "Damage cannot be reflected"? Is that only referring to the damage gained from the 5% of phys gained as extra fire per 5 power? If so, that is a supremely shitty thing to do it seems to me since that makes the explosion damage avoid 2 different types of supposed reflect immunity.

It refers to on-kill explosion damage.
