latency spikes when opening strongboxes

been doing boxes perfectly fine for a week, my connection is stable everywhere else
now when i open boxes my latency consistently spikes for 5 seconds and returns to normal
tried different servers, lockstep and predictive, restarting etc
no clue what else i can try, please help
