Broken Ritual Alter

I have attached a screen capture of a Ritual Alter, spawned in a location where: all enemies can not be eliminated or the alter will not respond. Not sure which. There were life bars showing up inside the walls, that were using a "blood wave" attack, and I thought I killed it off because the like indicator was gone and the attacks stopped.

The shrine would not advance the ritual, any attempt to leave the area was blocked, so I had to abandon the map.
