Mercenary behavior breaks after taking mod from monster

Prerequisites: Put the Headhunter belt on the mercenary. On the map, have the merc kill a rare monster with a mod that makes it run away from you. Result: The mercenary's behavior completely breaks until the location changes. Waiting until the taken mod buff ends does not help. May peace be with you, exile.
