What non proc/trigger items work for mercs?

I understand that mercs cannot proc or triggers stuff from gear, but what about other stuff like "gain" or "you have" from "if you xyz"?

Specifically I'm wondering about tailwind from hunter influenced boots.

Side note, will gravebind proc Chieftain's Hinekors, death's fury?
