Keep running out of regular gold - fastest way to replenish?

I didn't play last league so I tried setting up my Kingsmarch town this league and I'm really enjoying the mechanic, and making bank. But not knowing I was going to need gold, I squandered a lot of it away and now I'm trying desperately go make more to feed my town.
Whenever I ask people how to make gold fast, the standard reply is "do high end content". Ok, I'm doing red maps and delving a lot, but it's VERY slow going for gold. I would like something more efficient. What is the hands-down, fastest way to get big gobs of regular gold? I don't care if I have to spend currency to do it, or waste time that I could otherwise be making bank, I just want the fastest way to get that gold number up. Don't know if in league the amout drops is the same (i skipped the legaue this time).
In standard a good way are synthesised maps. When i play all 4 different (except cortex) for maven invitation i sum always between 60k and 75k gold. So if you have a good and fast 'killer' its a good possibilty to farm gold |
