Breach / Harvest / Strongbox - How do I make currency?

Im on console, I tried a few things and ended up with Atlas specced into Breach, then Harvest, and some Strongbox. Im in the alc and go phase, mostly 16, some 14/15 if I get tired. Im very squishy, so I cannot push too heavily.

My problem is currency, how do I make some money to move higher? Harvest doesnt sell well at the moment, and the rest simply doesnt drop well. I get barely 1c on a map, often none.

Im close to burning out. Have I lost the game?

"I get barely 1c on a map, often none."

This does not seem right. You can run un-specced white maps and get more than 1c per map. I guess you mean natural drops, but you should be getting enough currency through trade to progress, unless you are spending a bunch of currency on opening the maps. I checked you are not in Ruthless league. Its possible your set up is not the best for faming currency, but it should not be as dire as you are speaking of.

It does sound like you are trying to push your build a bit too hard. It is often better to speed farm content that you can clear quickly rather than pushing further with content you are struggling on. Unless you have a reason for doin it, like unlocking something or getting the alters at t14. Maybe try dropping down to early red maps until, get your build a bit stronger. It could be that you need some advice on your build as well.

If you have unlocked or are close to unlocking another atlas passive tree, you might be able to try a different strategy, maybe something that is working well in the current meta. I don't think this would be a big impasse though. I would of thought selling harvest mats alone would be getting you some currency. You shouldn't need much to progress if you build is good. It may be that there are some other things slowing you down than the type of content you have spec'd. I'm not really spec'd into anything currently. I've been doing some breech which is good for mobs but might not be the best for currency currently. Masters seem pretty decent at the moment, though you need a little bit of knowledge.

I would say just try speed farm some lower content and see if you get a bit of improvement on your drops.

(BTW I am not very familiar with console play, so if there is some limitations regarding anything I have mentioned take it with a grain of salt.)

Thanks for the feedback. Here is my pob fwiw, https://pobb.in/bItzAv3P_Ay7. I started with the Maxroll Ice Shot Miner, but I couldnt leech and survive. So I pivoted to Fubguns LA/Ele Hit and tried to complement it with ballistas. But with my setup, I can barely take 2 auras, and my defenses are right at the edge. Ill be happy to take any advice.

I have ~110 maps completed plus a few points from the quest lines, so I even have 3 Atlas trees. I managed to get 2 Voidstones (Exarch and Eater), hoping to get UE and Maven some time next.

Yes, I meant natural chaos drops. Console is worth noting, because the market is much much smaller. I can barely sell any equipment, even if it seems heavily underpriced to me (1-20 chaos range). A single item I was able to sell for a div.

I get quite some other sellable items to be fair, like Scarabs and fusings, but either Im hoarding because of FOMO (like the fusings) or I just cant be bothered to sell like 53 different Scarabs for 1-3 chaos a piece over the tedious UI. But maybe this is what I ought to do? Acquire enough of things here and there and then sell them in bulk...
All those 1-3c items and other small currency items are where your wealth is at. Don’t underestimate that stuff. Invest half an hour and list all that stuff for sale. It’s definitely worth your time. I did it yesterday and turned my low currency in like 8-9 div. I can understand however that this is much more annoying to do on console 😆

Sounds like you are doing pretty well, your getting into the end game. That should be a good build for farming in maps, clearing quickly.

It's starting to get to the point of the league where a lot of items loose their trade value. On this flip side, if you are looking for upgrades it can make stuff cheaper to by. Is there any particular upgrades you are wanting the currency for? Or just wanting more currency in general.

I hang onto a lot of frags and thing that I don't use as well. It is probably better to be using them though, or liquidating them if you are struggling for currency. It is pretty easy to do now with the currency exchange and can add up. Only downside is needing gold, but it is probably worth it for the convenience.

I'm not the best at know what is profitable and efficient currency farm wise. I can take a look at you build in a bit and see if I can notice any easy improvements. LA can be a bit squishy, it relies a bit on dps and not getting hit. So it might be good to be clearing big juiced up mobs on a lower tier than struggling with tough mobs on a higher tier.

Have you got a good Merc set up? They can be pretty useful if you get one that helps your build. Can be expensive to gear out and i'm not sure what one goes well with your build, but it is something to think about if you don't have one. And it makes the content tougher as well. So if you have one that is not geared or right for the build, it may need to be improved.

__

Build:

Build looks mostly good to me. I haven't looked over it completely as I assume your build guide knows more than me. Looks fine at a glace though, not seeing any glaring problems. Your defenses are not bad, it's just a build that is not heavily defensive. Probably has been pretty good so far I imagine, but might run into some resistance now when getting to tougher content. Upgrades will start to become expensive as well.

There is room for improvement on your rare items. Particularly looking at gloves. There's nothing wrong with anything you are using, it just gets harder to start finding upgrades. Bow is probably ok, but I would be thinking about upgrading the rest. It may not make a huge difference though and if you are struggling on currency it might not be worth paying a lot for upgrades that won't give a huge increase to your power. Wondering about your jewels as well. All that multi will be good for damage, but I'm wondering if the build guide suggest any else. Jewels are usually pretty powerful. Could be that on your budget timeless jewel or watchers eye is not going to be helpful currently, but there might be something. Flask seem ok, can be improved but if it is working does not need immediate improvement, looks like you've paid some attention to it. Can't see pantheon, but assume you have that set up.

Overall, there's probably not that much help I can give you, other than to say you are basically on the right track, but this build might run into some limitations on tougher content without being fully optimized. Main thing I can see is you probably want to improve you skill gems. Quality, on a priority basis and lvl 21 at least on your main skills.

So back to your currency farming, i'm not the best to help with that. Only to say that I don't think you should be having as much difficulty as you say. If you continue to struggle with drops and dropping back the difficulty doesn't help, you might need to investigate getting a specific atlas on content strategy that works for this league and your build. If you are using a loot filter you might want to check that as well. It's possible it is too strict and you are not at a point yet where you can only pick up chaos and need to be picking up a slightly wider range of currency. Again, not familiar with console, so this might have some technical limitation. It could be your expectation of the drops as well. If your build has gotten to getting watchstones, it should not be struggling much with basic currency. If your stating to need multiple Div, you probably need to find something you can reliably sell and obtain in bulk or be looking at your map clearing speed to increase the overall drops per hour.

Thanks again for the help. Im trying to go by Fubgun, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDjODLiQ4pg, https://pobb.in/4WAIjsggAvbf. I tried swapping out the ring and belt for uniques, but I lose so much life. I used POB to pick a few things on my own, but I dont know, I might be diverting just enough from the gear/gem setup that the pieces do not come together quite as much as they should...

To answer your question, Fubgun says that T17 are gonna be rough w/o a Headhunter. But I just dont see myself reaching 200divs. Also, I got my bow fairly cheap, 1.25 divs, I yolo-ed an annul to be able to craft crit on it, it looks like a 10 div item to me now. A bow upgrade would be 60 divs I think. On the gloves/boots, I was holding on to the fairly high life rolls. But that's a good point, Ill try to find upgrades.

The gems, that's a good point. I was not sure if Im gonna stick with this setup, but I definitely need to up the quality. Eventually, I also need an awakened ele dmg, that's also like 20 div or so...

At the moment, my merc is just a meat shield. I have been dying too often to be able to "pick" my merc. But I guess I should look into this too.

So, yeah, currency... I was wondering if Im doing some mistakes, like going for Breaches. The breachstones dont sell for much either, so I was hoping to get at least some drops from the mobs... I dont use Chisels or Scarabs yet, I dont see the return on investment, but maybe I should at least try...
The Strongbox route seems to be "famous", but Fubgun mentioned that the Strongbox strategy is mostly just T17 viable... which I dont think Im strong enough for w/o a Headhunter... then again, I didnt even get a T17 map drop...
