Gold disappeared

I put twenty thousand out of sixty six thousand gold into my town, It said I had a day and four hours before that twenty thousand of gold was gone.When I went to hire someone all my gold was gone, All sixty thousand of it even the day and four hours I had was gone, all just disappeared. All my gold has just disappeared!!!

I forgot to say that this was on the PS5.

Are you in Standard or in Mercenaries league?

Did you have mappers running?

How long was there between when you deposited gold and when you tried to hire someone?

The estimates of how long until your gold is empty are inaccurate at all times (for various reasons), but they're WAY off if you have mappers running.

OTOH, if you really didn't deposit all your gold... the town should never be able to take gold from your own personal inventory, only from the town treasury.

It is very easy to deposit the wrong amount though, on the controller interface.

I'm in mercenaries. No maps running. I had just turned the game on. I went to my town to see if I could send a shipment & deposited 20000 gold. I needed one more person to sell my ship & when I went to do so all the gold that I had in my Treasury & in my inventory was gone.

None of my supplies had increased either.It was like I never did anything.

My gold just straight up disappeared.

From the time I deposited the gold to the time I tried to hire someone, it was approximately about one minute.

Very weird. Hopefully GGG can look into it.

I will say, even if they find the bug, you'll never get back the gold you lost.

GGG has a very sensible policy of not restoring lost items/etc. The only exception being when a large number of people are affect in a short period of time and they can fix it with a rollback... but even then it's only done when restoring the lost items is more important than letting people keep what found during the time that would be rolled back (because all progress during that time, including XP and loot found would be lost).
