Can Yoke of Suffering increase my damage if I let my mercenary use it?

I always played alone. This season I want to let my mercenary use Yoke of Suffering, but I don't know whether "Enemies take 10% increased Damage for each type of Ailment you have inflicted on them" can affect my damage to enermy. Can anyone explain it to me please?

It should work, causing the enemy to take increased damage based on how many ailments the wearer of the amulet has applied (in this case, the Merc).
