A few bugs to note ps5 version
Cast when damage taken not triggering warcries, the scarab atlas passives do not work I have every scarab circle allocated & when I run a map only 1 or 2 drop but in another passive tree where I have none of the scarab circles allocated i'm getting scarabs left & right. Something is constantly causing the fog of war to keep resetting when I die & go back into a map.
I have to delete the game & redownload it to fix this but then after awhile it happens again & I keep having to do this every few hours. This has been a bug for awhile can we please get it fixed it's frustrating to having to keep doing this on the PS5 version. Also the screen be flickering like crazy when running abyss everything including the map will be strobing super fast & I won't be able to see whats going on. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3516602 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3046817 Last bumped on Jul 9, 2025, 5:53:07 PM

" There is an easier temporary fix to this. Open a different game to main menu, then go back to PoE. Apparently some games work and others don't, but PoE2 works for me, as does cyberpunk. |

" Carefully read Cast When Damage Taken. Now carefully read your Warcries. Here, I'll help out: First line of CWDT: " Tags on a randomly chose Warcry: " Notice how "spell" isn't in that list of tags? That's why. " While I can't be 100% sure you're wrong about this, you're probably wrong about this. Odds are that the reason for the difference is a combination of: number of packs, size of packs, item quantity, number of unique monsters, number of rare monsters, number of magic monsters, reward tiles, scarab drop bonus. More monsters = more drops. Rarer monsters (magic/rare/unique) = more drops. Some types of content provide "reward tile" drops, like Legion sergeants, which will often be Scarabs. The mobs packs and the reward tile drops can be coming from stuff on your atlas tree, from scarabs, and/or from the map option chosen when opening the map. Higher item quantity (on the atlas, on your gear, on the map itself) will result in more drops. And, finally, some maps (memory influenced maps and T17 maps) can have a specific "more scarabs" modifier, which will multiply all these other effects. Note that the "increased effect of map modifiers" nodes on the atlas multiply these values. There is also some possibility that your item filter is hiding some "cheap" scarabs, and that your other atlas tree is biasing your scarabs toward more valuable ones, either by blocking the bad ones, by increasing the odds of the good ones, or both. Finally, there's just plain luck. Randomness in this game is large, so you have to run large numbers of maps to really for sure know if something is the way you think it is. If you really want to test it, you need to make an atlas that has all those scarab points (the "more likely to be x type" ones don't matter, they don't change drop rates, only which type drops), run a large number of maps on this tree, with very specific values for quantity, pack size, and scarab chance (the easiest way to accomplish this to run them white, but you could also deliberate craft maps with the same modifiers on them). Record all your scarab drops. Then you unspec those scarab points (leave them empty) and run the same number of maps with the same modifier values and map tier, and record your scarab drops. "large number" by the way starts at around 30 maps on each atlas, but real science would do 100+. Last edited by QQPQ#9136 on Jul 3, 2025, 8:38:09 AM

I appreciate your reply warcries they changed em I see. As for the scarabs theres no need to assume i'm wrong if you haven't tested it yourself. As I said previously I have a tree that's all about scarabs with every scarab passive allocated. I have ran a bunch of maps with this trying to see whats up with it.
I do not use any filters since the last update just brought back the ns filters I am on the default. Of course we can speculate on all the variables like monster packs what type they come from map quality & quantity & rarity but we don't have to just run maps & you will see. With all the circles allocated the magic & rare monsters should be dropping them but none of them are I should see some from even white mobs but I don't. I get way more scarabs on my passive tree with 0 of the circles allocated then my scarab tree with every scarab circle allocated. Even if I was following the variables to maximize my scarab drop effort (mob packs, modifiers, pinnacle altars , & etc) they don't make much of a difference to improvement. So please feel free to test it yourself & see run 10 maps with every scarab nodes allocated & 10 without one of them allocated. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3516602

Saying you have all the scarab nodes, that would take a lot of points, did you by chance allocate "unwavering vision" keystone on the atlas tree and not read everything that it does?

" Give me about 150 Orbs of Unmaking to respec my tree and then back, and I'll be happy to run 20 of each. I have not experienced the scarab wheels not working. I have not heard anyone else experience this. Where are you getting your ideas about how many scarabs should drop with those wheels allocated? Increased chance to drop scarabs is probably the weakest of the effects that helps. Pack size is better. Quantity is better. Rarer monsters are better. Tile rewards are better. ALSO... they didn't change warcries. They haven't been spells since before the game existed on consoles. Warcries were only spells before Act 4 was in the game. We're 4 days away from the 10th anniversary of this change. | |
I find it funny you ask me to give you orbs of unmaking & yet you want to claim there is no issue without testing it which I have & that's why I can say it & make a post about it. If you want to prove what I say is incorrect go buy your orbs & respec then prove me wrong. Otherwise what your saying is moot & you just want to make a claim to post points.
Also yes they have warcries use to work sure they changed the description & forgot to update it to say cannot be used with warcries. It's a simple fix really. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3516602

" Dude, this is literally false, unless you've been playing since before 2.0.0, in July 2015. FYI, the first console release was for XBox in August 2017, and the first Playstation release was March 2019. Here's the wiki page for CWDT: https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Cast_when_Damage_Taken_Support Here's what it says if you look for info about Warcries: " That's in the "history" table at the bottom. Why just Enduring Cry? Because no other warcry gems existed before then. If CWDT ever worked with a warcry on a console, it was a bug. And, as to your other statement, I don't think there's a problem, in part, because when I use atlas trees with the scarab wheels, I get plenty of scarabs. |
