Looking for a league starter build that could also help me hunderstand itemisation
Hi guys, I'm looking for a league starter build that has an itemisation easy to understand. Something a casual player like me, can figure out by himself if an item droped is an upgrade or not.
If the build translate well to end game, its a plus. I usualy plays necromancer and I do really anjoy all of the builds that I've tried but the stats needed are weird at time for a casual player and I can't figure out what is an upgrade and what isn't. I don't mind to play any class beside the witch, since I've never beated act 3 on anything else. Last bumped on Jul 2, 2025, 3:51:57 PM

Maybe RF. Most the build is based off fire damage, DOT, and your health pool. The defenses have a few more aspects to it, but it is largely your fire resistance and regen. Looks like the chieftain version is fairly popular again this league.
Melee builds are also typically easy to understand, though not always. I have not played the volcanic fissure of snaking that appears to be popular this league, but I played a slam/war-cry build in settlers. They are usually pretty straight forward, but also have enough aspects that you will probably learn some things while playing them. They also seem to be relatively strong at the moment and league start friendly. I played through he campaign recently with P.Conc. Poison damage has a few more aspects to it and can get complicated understanding the scaling. The main thing I had trouble with was knowing how many overlap aoe hits I was getting with increased aoe. I think for post campaign most people use the transfigured bouncing version, but even without it it seemed fairly good. Overall was not particularly hard to understand beyond what I've mentioned, though I have played poison before. Most people rely on their POB for knowing upgrades. If you are wanting to be able to do it faster than that in a speed running or league start situation, maybe start with builds where the in game tool tip is representative of the overall damage. I think ele bow builds work like that, although it gets more complicated if you are using supports like trinity that have extra conditional requirements. Any popular league start builds are probably good for you. Most of them rely on ground loot or easy/reliably crafted items. So are not usually very complex for levelling. There is probably quite a few options. Looks like this league is a bit more balance on the meta than Phrecia. Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Jul 2, 2025, 4:49:14 PM
