How to sustain life while using Echoes of Creation

I am playing Vfos and want to use the helmet but when I wear it and attack, I just lose a lot of hp.

What am I doing wrong?

You can mitigate that damage with physical mitigation, so it is possible your build needs more. Could be also to do with your recovery on your build. There is a Warcry mastery that recovers 15% of life on warcry. Might be that this is not needed on an optimal build, but it might be useful if you are having trouble with recovery in the meanwhile, while getting some aspects of your build sorted out so it is not needed.

There's several things you can try. You can do what the above poster said and try to work in the life recovery when you warcry mastery.

You can also try removing the 40% more damage ascendancy and go with defy pain, as long as your attacks are exerted by more than 3 warcries you'll still be net positive on damage and have way more ehp by doing away with 10% more damage taken.

You can craft life regen on one of your utility flasks on the bench.

Also your helmet has the max roll for damage taken, try to find one with the lowest % which is 15% so you don't have to heal through/mitigate as much.

You can try to get some recoup on your jewellery as well.

Just tinker around with that stuff and see what you can work in/afford.

Also some minor things to add:
-your amulet is missing an annointment

-your boots have no eldritch/eater implicits

-there are better implicits for chest than global phys dmg, try to get something like +max resists instead

-if you're not capped on chaos res you need to be, easiest way is to look for amethyst rings with good life, resists, and damage if you can afford but they get expensive with all of those good modifiers
