Severe Lag/Latency Spikes Only in PoE — Other Games Run Perfectly

Hi GGG team and community,

I’m running into a frustrating issue with Path of Exile and I’m hoping someone might be able to help or shed some light on what’s happening.

What’s happening:
I'll be playing just fine with a stable ping around 15ms, but then suddenly I start getting massive latency spikes — jumping from 15ms to 300ms or higher — eventually leading to full-on lag and disconnection. Once this starts happening, it doesn’t stop, no matter what I try. The strange part is, this issue only happens in PoE. I’ve tested multiple other online games during the same time, and they all run perfectly without any lag or connection issues.

What I’ve tried so far:

Switching gateways (Auto, Australia, New Zealand, etc.)
Changing network mode (Predictive vs Lockstep)
Restarting my modem/router
Reinstalling the game
Updating my PC and drivers
Monitoring performance in other online games during lag episodes (no issues there)
What’s even stranger is that sometimes I’ll wake up the next day and everything is fine — for a while. Then the lag starts again later that day or the next.

At this point, I’m really not sure what’s going on. Since this only affects PoE and not other games, I’m wondering if there might be a problem with routing to your servers or something specific to how PoE handles connections?

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get back to enjoying the game without having to fight the connection every session.
