Consecrated Ground modifier on Zealotry aura causing client crashes

While this issue has been present for a while, it only became a significant problem in the recent 3.26 expansion (at least it seemingly got worse).

The modifier "You and nearby Non-Minion Allies have a 10% chance to create Consecrated Ground on Hitting a Rare or Unique Enemy, lasting 8 seconds" is causing serious performance issues and even client crashes when paired with builds with very high hit rate (e.g. Blade Vortex/Vaal BV or Kinetic Blast even though KB does not benefit from the aura at all). All of this is only exacerbated by playing with a support build, such as an aurabot.

Even though I do not think the modifier is bugged in any way, the way it works introduces unnecessary performance issues.

I am unsure of how the Consecrated Ground creation is handled, but it would help immensely if it would not create Consecrated Ground every single time a player hits the 10% chance.

A few ideas that came to my mind are:
- let the game not create the Consecrated Ground, if it is already present around the player
- let the game not create the Consecrated Ground, if it has already been created recently (past 4 seconds)
- let the game not even roll the 10% chance if the player is already standing on Consecrated Ground

All of these suggestions have their own nuances and might even pose balancing issues, but I think that preventing client crashes should take priority in this case.

I have also seen this issue. It is frustrating that I cannot run my most potent aura for my friend because it causes me to crash to desktop in almost every map. Please dedicate some dev time to investigating possible solutions or work arounds.
I also have had this same issue. Doesn't matter what renderer you use, my carry crashes consistently if i run Zealotry on Aurabot (they are Vaal Blade Vortex). The difference is night and day once we disable Zealotry. It seems worst on Giga Exiles with the "deal no damage for 3 seconds every 10 seconds" mod on maps.


+1. Changing settings or renderer doesn't make a difference. Even tried rolling back nvidia drivers to the stable December release, problem persists. Might hear audio glitches for a second or two before crashing to desktop, no error message.

those mods are where it is most noticeable if something doesn't die instantly the server sends us packing
