Mark on hit not marking or im stupid

I have a question where im fighting one boss, and i have "assas mark" on "mark on hit", with "10% to gain frenzy when marked enemies are hit" mastery node, but not getting any frenzy charges. But when i actually remove "mark on hit" and use the skill myself, i gain charges.

I am on maps where they dont have "curse or hex unnaplayable on mobs" modifier

Are you using curses? They would replace the mark unless you have something with +1

I genuinely do not know what is wrong, i have no added curses or other hexes anywhere, and am following ruetoo's smite build (somewhat, gem wise i am), the only other aplicable thing i have is bleed, freeze, maybe lighting applies sometimes from my weapon, i have fortify.

The other thing is that it does not always give power charges, like i rarely if ever see them in my buffs, even though "assas mark" does state that it gives power charges when an enemy with the mark is killed.

"you can only have one curse active" line is there yes, but i do not think that i kill other not marked mobs "too fast" when one is already active. I do use smite, so it does aoe damage, but that would make it so that it procs the power charges even more often.

So either A: the mark genuinely just does not apply (mark on hit bugged)
B: the mark itself is bugged (mark on hit w assas mark does not work)
C: or im stupid af

Looks to me like its option D or xD to be honest.


You dont have enough unreserved mana to cast your mark...

So make sure you do have enough mana or work a lifetap into the setup.

Do you run around with a Merc who curses as well and your curse limit is reached?

Had this issue yesterday and complained about my Viper Strike of the Mamba build....I did zero damage to anything just to figure out my merc applied poisons already and prevented me to apply big mamba poison:/

it seems that option c is the answer, i am stupid, and the unreserved mana issue was the problem, thank you based mr. Orbaal#435. I did work lifetap in and now it works, yeppers
