Infamous mercenarys now showing up

i'm trying to do the mercenary challenges (infamous instigators and signature specialisations) but i haven't seen a infamous mercenary in days, since they did the mercenary patch i think.

and yes i kill every mercenary in every map, i only run tier 16+ maps and i dont think i've died to a mercenary in probably 3 or 4 days.

Is this a bug? or is there another way to spawn them in that i dont know about?


edit: I've been doing testing on this and it seems to me that if you dont interact with mercenaries at all, infamous show much more often, which is supposedly the opposite of what we thought, might just be massive coincidence (i've been told the same thing from someone else also), but when i dont interact with the mercenaries for a few maps or during campaign, i get infamous every 10 or so maps/campaign.
Hope somebody can confirm or deny this, but for now its what has been happening to me hope it helps.

Fun fact I tried a juiced Blight Atlas and was too weak.

So i went to Tier 14 maps & found 5 infamous in a row.

I had Titanic scarabs to juice unique monsters, maybe this had some impact on spawns?

Im also wondering if there is bug. Ive seen many infamous mercs during leveling and when I started Altas but after the patch nothing.
Im running t16 only and also havent die in ages. Yet no Infamous merc. I dont need their loot, just items for challenge.

The mercenaries taunts indicate there's a penalty for taking too much time. Try challenging them all quickly. Don't take time to look at their items and loot.

Please what? Like if it works this way why the game pauses for you to look at all their UI to check their stuff??? Then whole pause is useless, more when you are searching for their specific items.

they nerfed encountering them i think. before you could just not talk to them and the exile counter would not go down. now if you run by and don't talk to them the exile counter still goes down. this might affect renown too.

I'm having the same issue. Haven't seen one in days, yet before then, I was seeing them once every 5 maps or so. Can't complete any of the challenges associated with them which is a major bummer. Plus, they're fun! It'd be nice to interact with the infamous ones :(

Going into a different map tier fixed it for me! I'd been doing exclusively tier 16, but I switched to the tier 17 maps I had farmed up, and in the second one I encountered my first infamous mercenary in days!
