Miss the omen of amelioration when dying in the maven's invitation

Why do I lose my omen if I can't lose XP in the invitation?
Wouldn't the correct thing be for the man not to be consumed? In my opinion, it's the most coherent thing, having to take the omen out of the inventory to make an invitation that doesn't lose XP is a bit of unnecessary work |
