WASD needs new rigs, but Gamepad does not?

Hi,

Question as in the title.
Jonathan always says WASD implementation needs new rigs.
But PoE1 already has gamepad support.

You can map your keyboard to an emulated gamepad and play PoE1 with WASD that way.

Noone asks for the exact same implementation of WASD as in PoE2, we just ask to have WASD control as an option to move the character around.

Basically switch the analog stick logic with WASD.

I really need someone to explain me, why WASD -needs- new rigs to be implemented, while gamepad analog stick works just fine.

Do you believe so? My understanding is most players request "using skills while moving" feature.
Some may want that, but when people ask about WASD right now, they just want to control their character using WASD, simple as that.

I tested it out, used my Keyboard as a virtual Gamepad and played PoE1 in Gamepad mode with WASD beeing the left analog stick.

It works like a charm and feels really nice.

Having a native implementation of WASD movement with the Mouse and Keyboard UI and beeing able to bind any skill to left mouse button without moving suffice and be more than enough until new rigs come in who know how many years :)

i might compile a short video later on how it looks, just to reinforce my point.
