Necro Summoning question

I have "Unnatural Strength" node in my ascendancy which gives all my minions "Unholy Might" which converts all their physical dmg into chaos dmg.

My question is: is it contradictory to have "minions hits have 50% chance to ignore enemy physical damage reduction" (at minion offence mastery) chosen?.

I'm asking because I'm wondering if the conversion from physical to chaos dmg happens AFTER the "ignore 50% phys dmg reduction" or it happens BEFORE, which would make the whole thing contradictory and useless?.

Conversion happens before the final hit total is tallied. Mitigation happens after that.

100% of a physical hit being converted to chaos damage means you take 100% of the hit as chaos damage.

Your minions only ignore the physical damage reduction of they are doing physical damage.
