Need help understanding Allies buffs on weapons/talismans etc
Hey everyone,
I've been looking for an answer to this for a while but haven't found anything that clears up my confusion. I'm new to Path of Exile, so this might be a basic question. I'm playing as a Witch and using a sceptre. From what I've seen, many strategies focus on effects like "Allies in your presence [receive some kind of benefit]." From what I understand, these effects only apply to other players—is that correct? If so, I find it odd that such an impactful mechanic exists when SSF (Solo Self-Found) is such a popular mode. Wouldn't these buffs be completely irrelevant in that context? Also, is there a weapon better suited for my playstyle? I enjoy summoning an army and watching them clear everything on their own. Thanks! Last edited by sagat#8612 on May 5, 2025, 4:49:45 PM Last bumped on May 10, 2025, 6:09:23 PM

The Keystone passive Conduit (wiki) is an example of something that only affects other players. ---- It's worth noting that SSF is a relatively recent (well, 2017) addition to the game; many aspects of itemisation & the passive skill tree existed for multiple years prior to its inception. I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...
