Spell suppression discrepancy
In Hideout 67%
Without the Luck Mastery it goes down to 57% on the left side but stays at 57% on the right side. Hideout still 67% ![]() ![]() So the Luck node gives 25% in that case. But when i use this flask it goes up to 76% (+19%) in the Calc Tab but only to 94% (+12%) on the left side. Can that be correct? Im bad at math. " You have the passive Void Barrier allocated, which gives you +10% Spell Suppression Chance while on Full Energy Shield. PoB isn't factoring this in unless you go to the Configuration tab and check off "Are you always on Full Energy Shield?" " 76% chance to Suppress is a 24% chance to fail to Suppress. If your chance to Suppress is Lucky, then you have have to fail to Suppress twice to actually fail. 0.24 * 0.24 = 0.0576 5.76% chance to fail to Suppress is a 94.34% chance to Suppress. The largest percentage change you'll see from something being Lucky is 25%, when the base chance is 50%. But, it's still pretty effective as you approach 100%, until you actually hit 100%. At 95% base chance to Suppress you'd only see a 4% difference in actual Suppression chance shown in PoB, but it'd still be going from failing to Suppress 1 in 20 hits to failing 1 in 400. |

Thank you.
Im bad at math so it wouldve been a miracle to me for the rest of my life. Is 100% Spell Supression with Luck equal to a "flat" Supression cap? And why does it practically do nothing to my Phys damage reduction? There are Phys spells in the game right? So is it maybe better to focus more on my PDR than to cap Spell Supression? Im bad at math.

" They are separate stats that have overlap on what they do when it comes to mitigating phys for spell hits. If you want to see the resultant effect at what they do, set the configuration damage type to physical spell damage and you should be able to see both mitigate that damage value. If you have capped spell suppression, the phys max hit will also give you some idea. As we talked about in your thread the other day, if it is not capped, it will not be getting calculated, because it calculated on the hit that is not being suppressed. EHP against pure phys spell damage may also give you an indication. PDR is it's own specific stat though, it is not a combination of all things in the game that are mitigating physical damage. " Not sure what you mean exactly. You will not get to 100% with Lucky suppression roll, unless you are already 100% capped. In which case, you are already capped without the Lucky roll, so it is not increasing the overall Spell suppression chance. It can get very close, with high values, but without 100%, there will be times when neither of the rolls Suppress. " Build dependent. Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Apr 30, 2025, 12:17:26 PM
