Dark Effigy + Cast on Minion Death

I have been trying to run a contagion + Minion build for a bit now and have been wondering why I couldn't do Cast on Minion Death + Dark Effigy. It was kind of shocking when I went to throw those two together and found out Dark Effigy seems to be treated the same way as other Minion skills, despite it being a Totem

Is this intended?

Are there any updates on this?

This is really annoying, please either update the UI or fix the bug. Wasting a lot of time and gems working out if it was due to gem levels and such is a major fun killer.

I also cannot work out why we cannot socket Mana Tempest either.

This bug still exist in third edict update.
This is very annoying since the descriptions don't make sense.

Describing the problem again, the combo of Cast on Minion Death buff and Dark Effigy Spell does not work. The description for Cast on Minion Death says that you cannot socket spells that create Minions. Since Dark Effigy does nowhere specify that it is a minion, in fact it rather says that it is a Totem which are also specifically NOT minions). But sill you can't socket Dark Effigy into Cast on Minion Death.

So from my understanding either the Cast on Minion buff description, Dark Effigy description or the Totem/Minion flavourtext is wrong.
