Can GGG consider untethering the MTX effects from MTX rewards?!

Last league one of the challenge rewards was a very cool trade window MTX.. but... ONLY if you use the god awful huge helmet that its tethered with.
Can this PLEASE change? There are some very cool effects I love but they are tied to GEAR mtx.. I dont want some random looking gear.. its backwards thinking.. I buy MTX to look like I want my character to look.. I hate that cool effects are tied to gear MTX and I can never use it unless I wanna look like random pieces.
