How to swap relics in locker for sanctum?

Hey all, so when I'm trying to swap my relics from my big locker into the small one when starting a new run, I'm able to pull them out, but I cant put any into the small one. I am able to do this however when using keyboard/mouse instead of a controller. not sure if this is the right place. I have tried using X to move and I get the error, I also tried Y to manually pick it up and use the joystick to move to the left smaller locker window. Won't work.
