Game Freezes PC
Poe intermittently freezes the entire computer. It used to crash constantly but updating DXVK to 2.2, newer proton GE 8.x, and updated nvidia drivers seems to have solved many of the crash issues.
Setting CPU C-states max fixed some of the cpu latency problems. Fps is mostly stable. I am to the point where I can play most of the day usually without a crash but just now I left it in town went upstairs came back to a frozen solid pc that I could only power button it down. Sometimes it crashes within a few zones and randomly out in the world. Some peoples hideouts are a guaranteed crash or issue loading who have too much mtx but I have no enabled mtx. Things I have done over time so that people wont post useless troubleshooting solutions: Various Nvidia drivers(on 555.58.02 now). New Kernel (6.10.3). Various Proton versions(glorious eggroll). DxVK versions at 2.2. Changed max cstates to =1. No async, no preload. Upped the max page size needed for some games. Tried all renderers Dx12 being the most successful. CPU/GPU Temps are fine around 40C for cpus 50 ish on GPU depending on fan spd. Set GPU Max performance mode, disabled forced full compositor pipeline. Cpu governor set to performance (cpufreq-set performance). No Desktop Compositor at all. Specs and OS: HP Z840 Workstation, Dual 12 core Xeon 2.5ghz, 64GB DDR4 2133mhz, EVGA 980GTX 4GB. Slackware Linux 15 64bit, kernel 6.10.3 with preempt dsektop mode, X.Org 1.20.14, KDE Plasma 5.23.5. Computer hardware is fine and been in service quite some time, can compile all night long without dying, other games run without error. Benchmarks run without eror. This issue seems to plague many even windows users and users of other video card types, even newer video cards which are bleeding edge. The game is not reliable and it seems like no matter what one says there is no one responding with at least some news or a reason to these issues nor seems to be plans to fix them.
