Game is crashing hard, can't input name / password
Hi, all.
Windows 10 with the Intel Gen 14 processor. I recognized the problem so I went to my techies and got the fix for the issue. (Bios update) And now I can't log into POE. I have no problems with any other games or programs, but when I try to get online it crashes before I have a chance to input my user name or password. The ONLY change I've had is to update the BIOS to prevent the CPU from being damaged. So I need advice from a techie: What might I need to change in BIOS to run the game? As a side note, Event viewer gives me this information:

Same issue here. I was on the game just fine earlier today, even after the patch. I restarted the PC for windows updates and now I can't get on the game. It loads into the gateway select screen and crashes after a couple seconds.
Sometimes on crash it will show a quick error box of "Error loading type Metadata/..." and give some random file path/name that's different each time. I've tried reinstalling the game, deleting cache folder in %appdata%, deleting Path of Exile folder under My Games, and switching settings on my graphics software. Now I'm going to try upgrading to Windows 11 since I've been putting that off anyways, maybe it'll make a difference? My event viewer log looks nearly identical to yours btw:

I'm now in game after underclocking my intel 13th gen i9-13900K from default speed of 55x to 52x using the intels extreme tuning utility. There's a huge warning to anyone toying with clock speed as you void the warranty and can damage your PC, up to you if you want to give it a shot. Hey, thanks for the response.
I tried to do this but I don't have the CPU (a K series?) needed for the program to work. it IS worth thinking about. | |
I have FINALLY fixed (I hope) my problems.
This required me to manually change my bios performance core ratio and optional core ratio from AUTO to 40. So I am done whining for now. For now. :P Newevil |
