Steam account link bug

Hello!
Wanting to access the trade whisper function I tried to link my steam account to my login with my e-mail account and my account/characters have been deleted. I since then unlinked accounts and via the steam automatic login and my e-mail login standalone from steam I do not have my characters back. Thanks for the help! It sounds like you accidentally overwrote your Steam Path of Exile account by logging into an alternate account and then connecting it to your Steam, removing Steam's link to your main account.
